New Player Guide

What is all this?

Minecraft is a game about breaking and placing blocks in a huge 3D world. Mineous Prison is a multiplayer server — an online world you join along with everyone else.

The idea of a prison server is simple: you start at the bottom (rank A), mine blocks to earn money, sell what you mine, and buy your way up the ranks all the way to Z. From there you "prestige" and keep building — better gear, gangs, cells, and a reputation. Part grind, part strategy, part community. You'll pick it up fast.

Step 1 · Get Minecraft

You need the game first. Mineous works on both editions:

• •Java Edition — PC, Mac, or Linux. The classic version most servers use.
• •Bedrock Edition — Windows 10/11, phones, tablets, and consoles. Mineous supports it too!

Buy and download Minecraft from the official website, minecraft.net. Create (or sign in with) a free Microsoft account, install the launcher, and launch version 1.21 or newer.

Only ever download Minecraft from the official minecraft.net. "Free" or cracked copies are unsafe and can't join Mineous.

Step 2 · Join Mineous

With Minecraft open:

You can copy the IP straight from our home page. First join takes a few seconds — welcome aboard!

Step 3 · Your first 5 minutes

Here are the only controls you need to start (Java shown; Bedrock uses touch or a controller):

• •Move: W A S D  ·  Look: mouse  ·  Jump: Space  ·  Sneak: Shift
• •Mine / attack: hold Left-click  ·  Use / place: Right-click
• •Inventory: E  ·  Chat / commands: T  ·  Drop: Q  ·  Hotbar: 1–9

A "command" is just a message that starts with /. Press T, type the command, and hit Enter. When you spawn in, look for signs and NPCs — and you can replay the starter tour any time with /tutorial.

Step 4 · The core loop

This is the heart of prison — the loop you'll repeat over and over:

1. 1Go to your mine: /mine (or open /warp).
2. 2Mine blocks — hold Left-click on the stone and ore. Your inventory fills up.
3. 3Sell it: /sellall turns everything into money.
4. 4Rank up: /rankup to advance A → B → C…
5. 5Repeat! Higher ranks unlock better mines with more valuable blocks.

That's genuinely it. Mine, sell, rank up. Everything else in this guide builds on top of that loop.

Making money

Beyond plain mining, here's how to stack cash faster:

• •/sellall every few minutes of mining.
• •/quest — complete objectives for big rewards.
• •/daily — a free reward every day; streaks pay more.
• •/vote — vote for the server to earn keys and money, free.
• •Trade with other players, and sell rare drops from crates.

Ranks & prestige

Ranks run A → Z. Each /rankup costs money and unlocks perks plus a better mine. Use /ranks to see them all, or /maxrankup to buy as many as you can afford at once.

Reach Z? Then /prestige resets your rank in exchange for prestige rewards and serious bragging rights. Prestige is the real long game.

Tokens & enchants

Tokens are a special currency you earn while mining — check them with /tokens. Spend them in /enchant to add custom enchantments to your pickaxe: mine faster, earn more, and trigger powerful effects. A good pickaxe is the single biggest upgrade in prison.

Cells

A cell is your personal space. Use /cell to claim or visit one — store items, decorate, and make it your home base. Some are rentable tiers with extra perks.

Gangs

Team up! /gang lets you create a gang, invite friends, pool resources, and claim mine territory for bonuses. Gangs climb their own leaderboard and unlock group perks — much faster (and more fun) than going solo.

Crates & keys

Crates hold random rewards — gear, money, cosmetics, rare items. You earn keys from voting, daily streaks, events, and the store, then open crates with /crate. /cratemonthly has premium loot.

The underworld

Feeling risky? Mineous has a full underground economy. Grow and process contraband, sell to the Shady Dealer, run /smuggle jobs, and turn "dirty money" clean with /launder. Watch out though — police raids can catch you in the act. Type /drugs to learn the ropes. Totally optional, but very Mineous.
